JANE GROSSMAN KAMRAT

Jane Grossman Kamrat was born on the lower East Side in New York City, to a family steeped in serving the community. She remembers watching and assisting her mother in social justice and peace causes, setting up early rehab centers in the 60’s, and saving and finding homes for stray animals.

Jane met her husband David in school, and they knew instantly they shared a similar vision, including prioritizing raising a family. Jane received her post graduate degree at Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York for Nurse-Midwifery. She practiced in New York and moved to south Florida in 1994 to continue her work in women’s care as an integrative practitioner serving diverse communities.

In 2001, Jane was one of the founding JAM & ALL members, helping create JAM as a 501(c)(3), organizing events, and contributing as a founding member of the JAM & ALL Women’s Group. She moved to Eugene, Oregon in 2004 and continues to reside there, enjoying hiking, gardening and grandchildren.
